For this blog, I bring a critical application insight for True SYNERGISM which a leader must be aware for true amazing success in an Unpredictable and Challenging VUCA (Variable, Uncertain, Changing & Adaptive) Scenario or Environment.
I will begin with a key quote and then describe the appliable insights for it. Dr. David Jeremiah brought this truthful insight and while I will not bring the religious part of it, this is Truly Central for True Synergy and helps people to prepare for True Success in Unpredictable environments. So first, let me state the quote and I will then bring insights about the key Leadership Truth in this. So let me start with the quote which is real and true:
“SYNERGISM is the working together of various elements to produce an effect that is greater than and often Completely Different from the sum of each element if they were acting separately!”
-Dr. David Jeremiah
A Dysfunctional Vision often seen today involves how people envision true Synergy. So many in today’s environments look at the concept of real synergy as if we are all doing the same thing, thinking the same and “don’t have to really process the knowledge and awareness”. This is a very dysfunctional approach to this.
Organizational Maneuverability alignment
Allow me to offer an insight that is aligned with my Organizational Maneuverability concept and is critically true in Unpredictable “VUCA” environments.
As you and your team are moving forward to reach goals or reach mission accomplishment, the leader and the team must realize that in today’s environments, not everything is pure academic or superficial. As your team moves forward with your strategy, there are often factors that will come on the scene that are completely unexpected or from different angles than expected. Let me offer 2 insights:
#1 Insight:
The people on your team are not all the same. Their backgrounds are different, and this can be a benefit because while one person is focused on the general vision and expectations, another person may clearly recognize this one factor that is arising and what needs to be done to adapt. Realize that this factor may be a risk, but it also may be bringing an unexpected benefit or an easier adaptive strategy to the success your team is looking for.
While a member or two may have clarity on this factor, several others may not. As they work together to get the Neuroscience mental processing going and developing clarity, some unexpected and amazing success could be coming on scene.
#2 Insight:
Sometimes amazing success and insights can sometimes be brought by what one believes is the “lowest or least grown” individual on their team. Often this can be done by just questions that are brought and when the discussion is not rote academic but is a real conversation that reveals unexpected and radical success.
Don’t do what so many do by simply playing the blame game on factors of why what they did failed.
So let me offer you a couple of questions for you to consider as the team leader:
How do you need to redefine your team’s true SYNERGISM application and unified success?
To what extent are you truly putting some of your team members aside and shutting down their mental processing and putting it aside?
What must you do to truly model the difference in your team and help them experience the SYNERGISM difference and build their true success in the journey?
